Maia Kayser

A bit about me
I'm a VFX Animation Supervisor/Associate VFX Supervisor and proud Member of the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences. I currently work at ILM/Lucasfilm with 20 years experience in the visual effects and film industry. I supervise and manage projects in Film, TV, VR/AR, Rides and Video Games. My most recent project being the new holiday classic Candy Cane Lane.

I joined Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm in 2001 and have worked on over 30 films and shows, including "Mandalorian: Episode I ", "Star Wars – Episode VII", "Rogue One", "Rango" and "Jurassic World VR".
My work on "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest" earned me a Visual Effects Society award in 2007 for Davy Jones as best animated character in a motion picture.

I studied Visual Communications in Aachen, Germany. I later flew to the United States to complete my studies but never booked that return flight- upon graduation I moved to San Francisco to pursue my career in Visual Effects at Industrial Light and Magic. I'm currently pursuing a Masters degree in Management at Harvard.
